reflections and rejections

weight is important, it is part of the deception,
but i am beginning to approach the boundary,
there is only so much adornment the netting will allow,
before resorting to destortion

but
generally i like it

an explanation for all the netting.

one of the things i like the most about fabric is its relationship with the skin.
and
i feel netting allows me to explore this.

netting to me, represents a backdrop to build up a contemporary lace.
a vessel

allowing a build up of embellishment,
a contrast between the sheer and the opaque
the ease of the cut and the build
a geometric grid
mathematical in its application

I understand that other sheer materials can be used to create the same effect and that is something I need to explore further

but netting to me represents the invisible
embroidery upon skin.

Is it about face veils and headdress?

Real materials contained
A mask
Armor glorified

Edgings
screws and washers masked

concealed
Armor concealed

too circular?
you could allow the netting to act as a vessel
build an army
cut them out
paint it black
everyone an individual

I have so many photographs of flamingos,
I was a fabulous child

If I can't have the real thing maybe I will pretend
maybe I will start a journal of the make-believe
take note me and you and everyone we know household appliances

idea wanderings
technique proposals
traditional eastern techniques
lace work and applique

why am I so fascinated by netting?

how to successfully smother in gold?

a point of reflection
the problem I have with embroidery is, it is so time consuming that I get precious with it,
where the opportunity of furthering the sample occurs,
i fear for ruin, time wasted.

equaling bland samples
